NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTERY
The National Do Not Call Registry is managed by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and is enforced by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and by state law enforcement officials. The Registry was created to provide an opportunity to limit telemarketing telephone calls.
Once your telephone number is registered telemarketers have 31 days to stop calling your number. Many Americans have assumed cell phone numbers were not available to telemarketers. While FCC regulations prohibit telemarketers from using automated dialers to call cell phone numbers, it still happens.
Placing your telephone number on the Registry will stop most calls, but not all. Limitations in the jurisdiction of the FTC and FCC, permit calls from political organizations, charities and telephone surveys. Calls from companies with which you have an existing business relationship are not restricted..
To register your telephone number visit DoNotCall.gov or call 1-888-382-1222 from the telephone numbers you wish to register. For more information contact the FTC by email at dncconsumerinquiry2@ftc.gov.
IS SEAFOOD SAFE TO EAT?
Experts say do not eat swordfish, but the benefits of eating other fish outweigh the risks, according to a landmark study in the Journal of American Medical Association.
The high levels of mercury in swordfish is the reason the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) recommends you pass on the swordfish. Canned albacore or white tuna has more mercury than canned light tuna, so the EPA says young people should eat no more than six ounces of albacore a week.
While salmon does not pose a mercury risk, it may have PCBs. Limit servings of farmed salmon to one a month, but enjoy wild salmon four or more times each month, if your budget will permit it.

WHAT IS BMI?
Doctors check your Body Mass Index (BMI) to figure out how much fat you are carrying especially when you are considering surgery.
BMI scores of 18.5-24.9 are considered normal; scores of 25-29.9 indicate you are overweight and a BMI of 30 or over typically signals obesity.
