RSVP Report
By Kala Meadows

Spring has finally arrived like a breath of fresh air following a long, harsh winter. This season provides the perfect time to renew our commitment to serve others through our volunteer work.

As the needs in our community grow due to budget cuts, lack of funding and the general bleak condition of our economy, so does the need for our dedicated RSVP volunteers who give so freely o their time, talents and skills to help others who may be less fortunate.

Volunteers are rewarded with a sense of achievement and fulfillment as a result of their willingness to share their life experiences, provide companionship and assistance to their neighbors.

Invitations have been mailed for the Garden Tea Party scheduled for Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the Sai Convention Center. This event will honor our volunteers for their service in
the community. There will be entertainment, door prizes and scrumptious food prepared by
Chef Andrea Dunn and her staff. Please respond when you receive your invitation so that we will have an accurate count of the attendees.

We extend a warm welcome to our newest volunteers:

Dorothy Boyer at Rapides Regional Medical Center
Brenda Marchand at St. Vincent DePaul
Carol Unruh at Cancer Treatment Center
Lillie Ward at Martin Luther King Senior Center.
