As we begin a new year, let us resolve to be more charitable and helpful to our neighbors and all those who cross our paths. A smile and a kind word costs us nothing and may be just what is needed by a lonely neighbor or an elderly friend. Include them in your activities whenever possible and offer them a ride to the grocery store, doctor’s office, pharmacy or just an outing to break the monotony of their days. You will surely be rewarded for the acts of kindness that you provide to those less fortunate. The RSVP Volunteer Coordinators were recently honored with a Christmas Luncheon at Yolande’s to show our appreciation for their efforts in managing the time sheets , performance measurement tools, and volunteer mileage reimbursement forms. They also plan events at their respective stations making sure that all volunteers are included. These activities include bingo, health and nutrition lectures, arts and crafts, blood pressure checks, exercise and fitness and safety issues. We are grateful for all the services provided by these exceptional ladies. Welcome to our new volunteers: Ruby Dantin, Donald Ducote and Patricia Pardue who serve at Pineville Senior Center and Evelyn Pringle at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. Happy New Year to all!
