The Doolittle Tokyo Raid (part 2)

As Col. Doolittle sat on Chinese soil near his crash-landed B-25 he was the ultimate image of failure and defeat. As far as he was concerned the carefully planned raid on Tokyo and other major Jamanese cities was a total loss. He had no idea how many of this men has been lost nor how many of his 16 bombers had gone down nor if anyone had been any real success. The need to take off much earlier than planned had thrown all the careful plans out the window and changed everything. Doolittle was thankful for one small thing. At least all of the crew were alive and had no injuries. As for the others he was assuming a total loss of men and aircraft. In his mind, even if if he lived through this ,he would |
